We plan monthly happy hours and other activities around the area to get together, share stories, and maybe you'll find some dive buddies! This group is for free divers (no tank, but wetsuit etc) looking for dive buddies for abalone, urchin, spearfishing etc trips. Beginners welcome, but we need at least a couple experienced divers before we take a trip. I started this to meet more free divers, and anyone can join. I dive mostly up the Sonoma coast, but am trying to take trips down to Monterey as well. Everyone is free to create meetups here if you're looking for a dive buddy for a certain date.

We're engaged to protect what we love: oceans, waves and beaches. We are a grassroots non-profit environmental organization made up of beach-goers, surfers, divers, water-lovers, kayakers, moms, dads, kids, teens and anyone else who cares about the health of the oceans. We are you. We do beach cleanups, educational presentations, event boothing, and we get together to discuss issues that matter to our community and best of all- throw fun parties. This is a group for anyone interested in scuba diving, free diving, snorkeling, spear fishing, abalone diving, scuba lessons, scuba vacations...All skill levels are welcome. My friends and I started this group because we love to dive, explore, hunt, and travel to scuba destinations. Looking forward to diving with other divers from the bay area and the world.

I wanted to create a fun, laid back, group for anyone who is interested in the sheer awesomeness that is free diving (including performance freediving, abalone diving, spear fishing, kayak diving, etc.) Wouldn't it be great to have a diving buddy whenever you needed one so that you could safely go free diving all year round? Well that's what we're hoping to do here with the Bay Area Freediving Club. All skills levels welcome.
